Meetings – Ensemble Practise

Greenwood Guitarists

We meet up every two weeks on a Friday for our ensemble practise 7:30pm - 9:00pm which is very sociable and often extends to a session at a local pub afterwards. Our meetings schedule broadly follow the school calendar in that we have breaks in the holiday periods of summer, Christmas and Easter. The summer break is quite long; from mid/late July to early/mid September.

Our ensemble practise playing is predominantly with guitars but sometimes with another suitable instrument e.g. mandolin, recorder or flute, joining in.

Although most our repertoire is for classical guitar we do sometimes delve into contemporary popular and folk styles.

Society members are emailed the PDFs of the music to be played a few days prior to a meeting.

Society Members Fees

For the room hire at the Greenwood Centre members pay either for a whole term (6 or more sessions) at £31 per term or per session for £7 as and when attending.

We offer potential new members free admission to their first ensemble practise meeting with us to see if it is for them.
