Welcome to the Greenwood Guitar Society Website
Thank you for visiting the Greenwood Classical Guitar Society web site. We are now in our 26th year! The society aims to encourage and develop classical guitar ensemble playing at fortnightly sessions, performances and organised events. We welcome new members.
The society was founded by Martin Shaw in 1994 is now led by Mick Leyden and John Gates. While there is an emphasis on classical guitar ensemble we also explore contemporary acoustic guitar styles and compositions with other instruments especially flute and recorder.
Greenwood in the Park
During this Summer since the easing of lockdown restrictions two or three of us have been meeting up on the riverside green at Burnell Avenue, Richmond. Often we meet Tuesday mornings from 10am depending on weather.
